Dear Friends,
The lunar new year has heralded the Year of the Rabbit, my own Chinese zodiac sign, which is said to bring longevity, peace and prosperity. I had cause to reflect on longevity as a musician recently when I was named a 2023 National Endowment for the Arts National Heritage Fellow and one of the Asia Society's Asia Arts Game Changers. Both of these prestigious awards have provided me with an opportunity to reflect on my past work as well as providing exciting context for future projects. I thank the NEA and Asia Society for these honors, and to everyone who has reached out to congratulate me. I am grateful for you all!
