NEW YORK, NEW YORK (February 2, 2023) –– Lara Downes and NPR Music and Visuals, in collaboration with Classical California (KUSC Los Angeles and KDFC San Francisco), announce the return of AMPLIFY With Lara Downes, a series of intimate, deeply personal video conversations with visionary Black artists and cultural leaders who are shaping our creative present and future. The third season launches today, Thursday, February 2 on NPRMusic.org and NPR Music’s YouTube and social media platforms with the young jazz sensation Samara Joy, a 2023 Grammy nominee for Best New Artist and Best Jazz Vocal Album, and winner of the Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition.
