NEW YORK, NEW YORK (March 15, 2022) — Conceived and curated by pianist Shai Wosner, Signs, Games and Messages is a three-day, four-concert festival at Bard Conservatory that explores the music of Hungarian composer György Kurtág (b. 1926), as well as that of composers who influenced or were influenced by him. The programming is inspired by the exploration of hidden musical connections, cultural references, and personal homages that animate the composer’s music, setting a framework that looks at works from eight centuries—both standard and less familiar—from unexpected angles and in new context.
